Fifty shades of moral depravity

heart2.jpg.fpx

I haven’t read the book.  I won’t watch the movie. I saw the trailer for the movie Fifty Shades of Grey Evil in the theater.  Prior to another film I saw in the theater last fall, I heard the trailer as it played and teased the audience with despicable allure.  One needn’t have grown up with a sex-addict psychopath to know when someone/something is evil.  Nor, dare I say, does one need to be “spiritual” to recognize the evil of immorality — sexual abuse or abusive behaviour.  The law of God is written in our hearts. We know from the Word that God has given us this gift for our good–for our protection.  But when we deny Him, walk in our own ways, neglect the truth or buy into sin, we can be so easily lured into believing lies and become trapped by the devil’s clever snares.

So it is when a sensational movie comes along.  And maybe the worst lure of all for someone who’s firmly decided to not see the film or read the book is fear of rejection or fear of not being cool.  Ever been confronted with that: don’t-be-sucha-prude lure? Sure you have. I have, too.  O, so you’re too good for that?  O, so you’re afraid you’ll like it?  O, so you’re happy with your same ol’ – same ol’ sex? Don’t you want to spice things up a bit?  O, you can’t handle it?  You know what I mean.  And then, there’s the judgement bomb:  How can you self-righteously judge a movie or a book you haven’t seen?

I can’t take seriously and/or don’t care about any of that vitriol. We don’t have to experience wickedness to know it’s wicked.  We don’t have to view evil to know it’s evil.  Again, God’s law written on our hearts—and if we know Him, His Spirit bears witness with our spirit.  We can know — with assurance — things that are wrong – evil – immoral – vulgar – whatever, without seeing or experiencing them.  It’s amazing how much controversy is being raised over this movie — shocking that it’s being defended.   More than Harry what’s-his-name.   Although, ironically, I see danger watching sorcery, et al.

Isn’t it interesting that society in general seems to have allowed so much room for women’s liberation; giant leaps in “equality” and yet — and yet — here comes along a movie filled with such abuse, degradation, humiliation, torture and control — the very things from which women are fighting to be freed.  Homes and families are being shredded all over the world by such behaviours as are depicted in the film (and books, etc.).  Women all over the world are being sexually used and abused, tortured and controlled by ruthless sexual psychopaths and staggeringly lucrative multi-billion dollar sex/porn industry with all its facets.  Magazines, print ads, window displays are not far behind.  And now… Fifty shades of what? Entertainment?  For Valentines Day — Really!?!?  Is it for audience shock and awe?  Is this art?  Why was this film made?  And what’s next?

These questions and more flood my mind as I see the headlines in the news and on Facebook.  I grieve the loss of innocence… I grieve what our daughters and granddaughters face… I grieve what our sons and grandsons face: society’s free-fall into the abyss of evil.  I also grieve for the young minds that will be filled with unforgettable scenes… I grieve the messages that will be given to so many who are desperate for love, attention and acceptance — how I pray they don’t get lured into believing that true love is fifty shades of grey.

Lord help us all.

the battle to expose corruption

The story – the battle – the man – taking on the “biggest organized crime syndicate in the country.”
Phill Kline’s courageous battle to expose and take down Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood (an oxymoron if I ever heard one!)  is attempting to destroy this innocent man.  It’s attempting to do to this man what it does to millions of innocent children every year.

Go to the site and read… Go to the site and listen to the February 15th webcast.  Honestly, if you’ve not been reading about the heinous practices of planned parenthood, you will be shocked. It’s worth the time you’ll spend listening.  Exposing the extreme corruption of Planned Parenthood is becoming more and more of a a risk to the man, his family and his livelihood.

Planned Parenthood is not about parenthood any more than abortion is about reproductive rights.

In thinking about it, I never really knew much about Planned Parenthood (I was probably fooled by the positive sounding name) and didn’t know what they were really about until I read some magazine articles after my husband and I were first married.  The articles were about women who’d been duped by the lie that abortion was not really about killing a baby and on and on.  Abortion is not a reproductive issue — it’s a death issue.  When those women realized what abortion really meant – it was too late and they knew it.  They know it until the day they die.

Mary Pride had great insight on this when she referred to Planned Parenthood as Planned Barrenhood in her 1985 book The Way Home.  She describes family planning as “the mother of abortion.  A generation had to be indoctrinated in the ideal of planning children around personal convenience before abortion could become popular.” [p. 77]

What we all didn’t know in those earlier days was how wide and far reaching this killing machine would span and how many lives would be affected — how many would die and how many lives would be destroyed — but this business encompasses much more than all that.

The widespread corruption is far more egregious than could have been imagined.  Shouldn’t have been that hard to imagine… when a whole bunch of money’s involved… follow the money…

And then… the Truth will come

Today’s mess news:  Eyes on Wisconsin… then keep ’em open toward DC, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, California — and Idaho.   Just keep watching… this looks to be the groundswell of a massive eruption, an avalanche of chaos and destruction.   Omy, it’s just so incredible to be alive during this time in history.

I frequently find myself  marveling:  the whole world’s gone mad.  It’s all around us —  just open today’s paper, click on whatever news media you favour or whatever social media you frequent. The words, the sounds, the grumbling…  like the rumbling of the land before a volcanic eruption.  The land is surely rumbling today… emotions are surely erupting.  And it’s getting louder…

Mobs telling lies and mobs of people believing them — these are creating societal knee jerk reactions at rapid-fire speed, with mob mentality reigning the day.   Consider the oldest enticement of man: “Yea, hath God said , Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”  Rocking contentment with the oldest enticement: mockery.  And it’s continued in many forms from that day to this… appealing to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

And then… the Truth will come.

I think ignorance and greed are the most destructive of all societal movements and, surely, it’s ignorance and greed fueling the protests and demonstrations now gathering unparalleled speed in our country and in the world.

Today’s a prime example of information technology being a blessing and a curse.  I.T. instantly imparts information and then creates or fuels or fans the fire of discontent, ignorance, greed and rage — for it is all of these human emotions that instantly react to the call of the mob.  All of these emotions can be manipulated to propel the cause — whatever the cause is… Unions, Abortions,

It’s all about power — the bigger the mob, the greater the power.  And, as was seen through the campaign process in the last Presidential election — it really doesn’t matter an iota if the mob knows what the rally is really about – what the ramifications of the protest will be or what they will really lose in the process. The mob wants power and they feel as though their voice is being heard and, thus,  they’re gaining power.  The mob becomes ravenous and, like most mobs, becomes unreasonable — even irresponsible —  defending the cause — even if they don’t really know what it is.

And then… the Truth will come.

I pray as I write this that I am keeping/will keep my eyes fixed on Jesus, trusting in Him — His Word — the Truth.  And that you, whoever you are, reading this, will trust in the Lord will all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…  I pray we’ll all see beyond what we see and hear beyond what we hear that we will be found occupying until we see That Day appearing.

It’s just a matter of time… the Truth will come.

Even so, Come, Lord Jesus.

Be ye not troubled

Reading today in the Word…
Over a cup of coffee with you.

Mark 13

7  And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
8  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
9  But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
10  And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
11  But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
12  Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
13  And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14  But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
15  And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
16  And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
17  But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
18  And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
19  For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
20  And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
21  And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
22  For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
23  But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

Thank you, Shiva

“The listing and description of the item was no longer available [at Amazon] early Thursday.”  I’d like to think it was my letter (or yours) that got that item pulled.  What’s more, I’d like to think it was Amazon’s mode of decorum that led to the decision to pull the book.  Though, in reality, had that been the case, the book would never have been placed for sale there.  In the end, it was probably revenue.  Or loss of it.  And Christmastime.

This, from a  FoxNews article: “That doesn’t mean Amazon should be prohibited from selling it, countered Christopher Finan, president of the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression. He said that Amazon has the right under the First Amendment to sell any book that is not child pornography or legally obscene. Finan said Greaves’ book doesn’t amount to either because it does not include illustrations.”

He believes the book is not ‘child pornography’ or ‘legally obscene’ because it  “…does not include illustrations.”    Mmmmhmmm.

The author of the book, Philip Greaves’ purpose in writing the book: “This is my attempt to make pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them, by establishing certian [sic] rules for these adults to follow,” a product description read. “I hope to achieve this by appealing to the better nature of pedosexuals, with hope that their doing so will result in less hatred and perhaps liter[sic sic] sentences should they ever be caught.”

The book’s author sought to make “Pedophile situations safer…” ?!?!?!?!   Additionally, “…appealing to the better nature of pedosexuals…” ???!!!???!!!  “…Less hatred…” ???!!!!???!!!!  “…Lighter sentences…” ?!?!?!??!!!?!?!!!  “…if they should ever be caught.”  ?!?!?!!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????

That’s what abusers never get.   They never get it that their behaviour, their addiction, their actions are wrong and they wreck lives.  Regardless of political correctness, this must not be excused.  Children must be guarded and protected from people who would use them to satisfy depraved individual needs.   This isn’t about sexual preference or needs or whatever.    Children must be protected from adults who would use them in any sexual manner – in whatever form: suggestion, written, cinema, drama, virtual, physical, emotional, etc., etc.

The author of the book in question believes his book will be restored at Amazon as there are other pedophile books in Amazon’s inventory.

  • Sad day for Mariner’s fans and friends and family of the beloved Dave Niehaus.  He passed away yesterday — a heart attack — at age 75.  There were two things I loved about Mariner’s baseball seasons… 1.) watching Timothy listen to the game on the radio. 2.) hearing the thrill and excitement in Dave Niehaus’s voice after any spectacular play! Especially a home run!  My-o-My, get out the rye bread and the mustard, Grandma!  My-Oooooooo-My!   It was as if the Mariner’s actually played baseball in our kitchen!  So, it’s a great loss for baseball… for the team and for Seattle.  Dave Niehaus: quite an icon, “the voice of Summer,” Seattle’s legendary voice.  Sad day.
  • It’s Veteran’s Day.  Everyone’s having a SALE!
Thank you, Veterans, for the sacrifices you’ve made — intending for the safety and sovereignty of our country.

The 2010 State of the Union Address

In light of yesterday’s post regarding the real state of the union… here you go: The State of the Union Address – part one. Listen. if. you. can.

BO: “Our most urgent task upon taking office, was to shore up the same banks that caused this crisis [Wow.]. It was not. easy. to. do. And if there’s one thing that’s unified Democrats and Republicans and everybody in between – is that we all hated the bank bailout! I hated it. (applause) I hated it (chuckle – applause). I hated it (more applause). You hated it. It was about as popular as a root canal.”

O wow. Think how many…

Did you say Change or CHAINS?

The words on one protester’s sign.

They say a picture’s worth a thousand words…  millions around the country have gathered, spoken out, marched, in protest of the snowballing debt, sweeping policy changes (chains), etc., etc.

Hundreds of thousands of people marched in peaceful protest this past weekend.  Dozens of issues were being protested by people of all ages.  These, from the lens of Barbara Curtis… see hundreds of photos here.

Saturday, September 12, 2009 — the day after the 8th anniversary of the terrorist attack on America September 11, 2001.  It’s interesting that that attack and the threat it revealed is still very fresh in the minds of the American people — regardless of a person’s political stand or even for those who say it was a covert operation of the US government, the ‘anniversary day’ was a reminder of the serious threat of terrorism, the horrific loss of life and preciousness of faith, life and freedom.

And so it goes…
