New Look, New address Posted on August 25, 2009 By pamela As you can see, we’ve made some necessary changes. Problem is, these changes have sort of incurred some problems of their own. As with every web change for me over the years, there is that learning curve and the time required to become familiar with the programs. Thank you for your patience. The Welcome Home blog will have sort of a new look and I’ve decided to use it more for homemaking, marriage, family, motherhood, etc., though I cannot say for certain that I won’t make a comment now and then about ‘the church today’ and ‘politics’ in general. :o) with love, pamela Potpourri Family
Posted on November 27, 2006 No time or energy to write, but didn’t want to miss the op to post a link. More on the peaceful (and let us not forget to also add) tolerant Syria – this, according to one of America’s most influential pastors. I’m guessing poli-sci wasn’t a favourite course or maybe… Read More
What if You knew You were Dying? Posted on February 27, 2015March 2, 2015 Have you ever asked yourself what you’d do if you knew you were dying? Or, how would you live differently if you knew this year was your last year to live? I was talking with my friend on the phone this morning and as I was recounting different ongoing family… Read More
Motherhood’s Company Car: it’s a dream car Posted on May 14, 2007 If the apron is the uniform of motherhood, then the van is motherhood’s company car. Now, when a mother first starts out, she has the starter car… it’s the two door model she attempts to “make do” until she has to move up to the dreaded “mini van.” It doesn’t… Read More
Good morning Mrs. Spurling, It is so good to see your words again. You have no idea how much some of us miss you! You are like our spiritual mother. I check your blog often for updates, encouragement and advice. I know you are busy raising up the next generation but boy, it is good to hear from you too! I love the new look. It is simple and clean. I also like that it is not harsh colors as that hurts ones eyes. Looking forward to hearing more homemaking and mothering advice. We all need it in this day and age! In Christian love, Ouida Gabriel
Dear Pamela, I really love your website. During the last two years, when I worked outside the home, your website was so important to me. (It still is but that was an important time for me to have found your site!) We had a LOT of down time at work and I would leave your website up until I got more work to do. (Other people watched tv, read magazines, etc.) I just want to tell you how much you have helped me in my spiritual growth. I remarried just before I discovered your website. I was searching the internet to find something related to “Christian wives, mothers, homemakers” and I finally found you! (Or more correctly, God directed me to you.) You are an uplifting person to me and have helped me more than you will ever know. It is sooo difficult trying to combine families and I honestly think that you have done more to direct me how to be a better wife, mother, and person than anyone else other than Jesus. Please don’t give up your inspiration EVEN IN LITTLE THINGS to other wives, homemakers and young ladies. Your cute ideas just give me joy and I have done some of them in my own home. You also make me want to help other ladies! You have meant so much to me and I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate you very much. God Bless!! Beth
I’ve been following your site for about a month now and I sure do enjoy it. I like the looks of the new site. Perhaps soon I’ll have my own blog up and running. Blessings
