A time of sorrow Posted on January 30, 2008 By pamela Ecclesiastes 3.1-8 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Please prayerfully remember Heather and the Davis family as they mourn the passing of Eric – her husband, their father… now safe at home, safe at last in the Arms of the LORD Jesus… ever at rest. May the LORD God bless you, Heather, and your family and may you be ever aware of His merciful kindness, His provision, direction and covering. Potpourri
Compare-a-titus Posted on January 9, 2012February 20, 2012 If you’ve been a mom for any length of time and you’ve spent time in and about homeschooling circles, Bible studies, workshops, conventions, courtship talks, retreats, blogs in the last 3 years or so… etc., etc., you’ve no doubt heard, or been part of, conversations that left you with a… Read More
Homeward bound Posted on July 27, 2014July 29, 2014 As I write this, I’m sitting in a large dining room, high atop a mountain overlooking a sweeping valley, many miles from home. In many ways, it feels strangely reminiscent of the time we spent in the hospital. Looking out over the valley, the sun streaming in through the east… Read More
intentional or haphazard… Posted on April 15, 2008 When days are busy, there’s just no way around it — not everything gets done that ought to have been done – but haphazard or intentional (or vice versa) what’s really most important usually does (get done – even if poorly). That’s how things have been or have seemed in… Read More
Thank you. When Heather was telling the kids on Friday night that their daddy might not make it, she presented the Gospel in its truest, simplest form and it was a beautiful thing to witness. Her hope is squarely in the Lord, and we are being blessed by her as she stands firm in her faith and is finding her shelter under the wings of the Almighty.
I think of this situation and my heart aches… even though we do trust the LORD and even though we know that we know that we know all of His ways are good… this is still quite bittersweet… I trust God to guide the path and comfort as only He can. I’ve been a member of the PW list and was formerly a member of the SIS list… that’s my way of friendship with Heather. I pray for you, her friends, too… God bless and comfort you. in love, pamela
Thank you for posting this, Pamela. I’m a regular reader of your blog but was touched to see our sweet friends mentioned here. They certainly do need our prayers now.
I don’t know Heather or her family, but my thoughts and prayers are certainly with this during this time. 🙁 Thanks for posting this Pamela so we can be praying.
