A time of sorrow

Ecclesiastes 3.1-8

1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Please prayerfully remember Heather and the Davis family as they mourn the passing of Eric – her husband, their father… now safe at home, safe at last in the Arms of the LORD Jesus… ever at rest.

May the LORD God bless you, Heather, and your family and may you be ever aware of His merciful kindness, His provision, direction and covering.

  1. Thank you. When Heather was telling the kids on Friday night that their daddy might not make it, she presented the Gospel in its truest, simplest form and it was a beautiful thing to witness. Her hope is squarely in the Lord, and we are being blessed by her as she stands firm in her faith and is finding her shelter under the wings of the Almighty.

  2. I think of this situation and my heart aches… even though we do trust the LORD and even though we know that we know that we know all of His ways are good… this is still quite bittersweet… I trust God to guide the path and comfort as only He can.

    I’ve been a member of the PW list and was formerly a member of the SIS list… that’s my way of friendship with Heather. I pray for you, her friends, too…

    God bless and comfort you.

    in love, pamela

  3. I don’t know Heather or her family, but my thoughts and prayers are certainly with this during this time. 🙁 Thanks for posting this Pamela so we can be praying.
