♥ strength for today

“…Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will show you today: for the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see them again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14.13-14

[cp_dropcaps]W[/cp_dropcaps]e read and seek to believe this scripture—and the battle begins in our minds.  Instantly, the enemy comes in like a flood to discourage us, to break down our resolve to trust what the Lord says.  Doubts wrap around our minds and cause us to want to do *anything* but stand still.  But in the standing still we gain great peace, great patience, great courage and trust. The Lord will not leave us, nor forsake us.  He *will* guide and He *will* provide. Ours is to wait on the Lord. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.

“The Word of God will be to you a bulwark and a high tower, a castle of defense against the foe. Oh, see to it that the Word of God is in you, in your very soul, permeating your thoughts, and so operating upon your outward life, that all may know you to be a true Bible-Christian, for they perceive it in your words and deeds.”
― Charles H. Spurgeon

“…whether we’re married or single, with children or childless, at every season of life if we are trying to find fulfillment and contentment and joy through anything or anyone other than Christ Himself, we’re setting ourselves up for disappointment. So many women today are trying to find joy through their circumstances, but as Elisabeth has taught so many of us as women, joy is a choice, contentment is a choice, and it comes as a result of obedience. It comes through abandon to Christ and surrender to Him.

Our natural flesh tells us if you let go, if you abandon yourself to the will of God you are going to be destined to this life that is too rigorous, too hard, and unbearable. But the truth is, when we hold onto our lives, when we try to pursue our own happiness as our ultimate objective, we’re going to have a truly hard life.”

Many preachers, speakers, writers have made this or similar statements: “When God is going to do something wonderful, He begins with a difficulty.  It is is going to be somethings very wonderful, He begins with an impossibility.” –Charles Inwood
I think we may see this from an “answered” place, not from the “difficulty” or “impossible” places.  God’s not limited to/by difficulties or impossibilities — these are our descriptions or our assessments of our situations or conditions.  God doesn’t need to start with difficult or impossible to do something wonderful.  But, interestingly, we often look back on situations that were so very difficult  or seemed utterly impossible and consider the way things worked out and we boldly proclaim, Only God could have done this impossible thing!!
